Alanya Shipyard

It is located at the end of the small beach next to Kızılkule. Tersane and Tophane are visited with the same entrance fee. Its construction started in 1227 and was completed in a year.


Consisting of five arches of eyes, the shipyard facing the sea is 56.5 meters and its depth is 44 meters. The location chosen for the shipyard is planned to make the most of daylight. The inscription on the entrance door of the shipyard carries the emblem of Sultan Keykubat and is decorated with rosettes. The historical Alanya Shipyard is the only shipyard built by the Seljuks and has been preserved to date.


The 5-line embossed inscription stands out 4 m above the entrance door. In the first line of the inscription where Alaaddin Ketkubat is praised as the sultan of the land and the two seas, the coat of arms of the sultan in the middle of the two badges can be seen.


Today it serves as a museum where the subject of maritime and ship is covered. While walking on a wooden walkway from the entrance, 1 ancient period crane in the 1st eye, 1 uncoated boat boat, which is a fast sailing yacht used for logistics and replenishment in the Ottoman navy in the 2nd eye, 1 mizena (located in the stern of the boat mast) and 1 spar (piece placed horizontally on the mast to sail), 1 main mast (longest mast of the boat) in the third eye, tools used in shipbuilding and fresh water well, ancient anchor anchors in the 4th eye, 5th eye You can see the instruments used in direction determination on ships.
