Public beaches in Alanya are under observation
Blue Flag program inspections, carried out under the leadership of Alanya Municipality, have started. In the 2024 season, the suitability of 69 resort beaches, 7 public beaches, 5 tourism boats and 1 marina business will be examined on-site.
Seasonal inspections of 69 blue flag resort beaches, 7 public beaches, 5 tourism boats and 1 marina business will be carried out in Alanya in 2024. Blue flag season inspections of the applicant facilities and public beaches are carried out by Alanya Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Directorate, TÜRÇEV Antalya Coordination Office, Alanya District Health Directorate and Alanya Tourism Information Information Office. During the inspections, the compliance of the facilities, public beaches, Alanya Marina and tourism boats with the blue flag guide criteria will be inspected on-site. In addition, information is given about the best beach practices of the facilities that will operate as blue flag beaches throughout the season.
The Blue Flag Program, which is implemented in 50 countries around the world, was implemented in Turkey in 1993 with the aim of protecting public health, environmental education and awareness. The program includes 16 rules of conduct with 33 criteria for blue flag beaches, 38 for marinas, 51 for tourism boats and 4 for individual yachts. The program includes mandatory criteria such as bathing water analyzes at beaches every 15 days during the season, suitability of wastewater treatment facilities, protection of sensitive natural areas, availability of lifeguards and first aid materials, emergency plan, disabled facilities, waste separation and environmental education. For marinas and tourism boats, corporate social responsibility, public participation and education are also among the evaluation criteria.
